Factory Reconditioned Homelite Chain saw ZR43100 review
For the seasoned lumberjack, nothing beats the chainsaw when it comes to doing his job out on the great woodlands. When compared to other methods of cutting trees, the chainsaw often comes out as one of the best methods there is.
One gripe about chainsaws is their tendency to weigh in heavily, causing the machine’s handlers to sport tired arms after using them. With this, Homelite introduces the Homelite Chain saw ZR10926 Ranger. The machine is designed to maximize power as well as reduce its operator’s fatigue. Does this chainsaw have what it takes? Read on to find out.
Key Features
* Factory Serviced to perform like new. Minor cosmetic blemishes may be present.
* Powerful 9.0 amp motor
* 14-in. bar with 3/8-in. low profile chain and Safe-T-Tip to help prevent kick-back
* Automatic oiler keeps chain lubricated
* Tool-less chain tensioner
* Oil level window
Right out of the box, the Homelite Chain saw weighs in at 8 lbs, which is well below the industry average, making it a lightweight machine.
The Homelite Chainsaw features a 14-inch blade cutter, with a 33cc Power Stroke engine. The engine is designed to maximize power and optimize performance. The machine’s Safe T Tip helps users to stabilize their units after starting up without much hassle and difficulty.
In terms of performance, the Homelite Chain saw cuts well through barks and trunks rather well. The 14” head should work to its advantage, but needs some level of monitoring to keep tension levels at the required intensity. The tension adjusting is rather easy to perform since the unit is found on the outside of the machine.
The machine’s Chain Break mechanism allows its users to enforce a forced stop in the machine’s operation- whether for emergency purposes or whatever reason there is to behold. The Manual/Inertia plug works smoothly in pulling the stops on your machine, and should let you stop it without much difficulty.
The Homelite Chainsaw also features a tool-less tensioner unit, which makes it easier for its users to gain access to the tension units, and calibrate the machine’s tension level without so much hassle and bustle on their part. An oil level window is also installed on the chainsaw unit for its users to be alerted on the machine’s critical oil levels during use and storage.

Works well for a reconditioned product
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
My husband and I purchased this in order to save money [rather than buying a brand new product]. It arrived promptly, and though one could tell it was reconditioned [all of the oil had not been wiped off], it was in almost new condition. We have since used it several times and the electric chain saw works really well.
We use it for trimming the shrubs around our yard, and also for trimming back smaller trees like the crepe myrtles in our yard. Basically it works great for trimming medium to large trees and for cutting smaller trees.I do not advise using it for cutting larger trees [perhaps the 16" chainsaw would be more appropriate for heavy duty use].
This product does not come with bar oil [for lubricating the chain].

We received it, put it together, tightened everything according to the instructions, added the bar oil and used it for ONE day. Ten branches later, it fell apart. No matter how many times we put it back together, the chain keeps coming apart and falling off the saw. I’ve given up on this saw.
Really Pleased

Very happy with the chainsaw I bought. I enjoy using it very much. The wood I have cut with it has warmed us several days. Would not have a problem buying more from seller.
It works

I bought this saw just to cut down a few small trees in my front yard. It works as advertised. I had a little problem assembling the saw but once I got it together I had no problem cutting down the trees. Remember to buy the bar oil.

Homelite Chainsaw

Bought this item to do light cutting in the backyard. It’s electric so no worries about starting those pesky 2 cycle engines. The saw cut well on trees up to about 6 or 7 inches across but I wish it had just a little more power. The chain jumped the bar once but I think that it was because I was a little timid about over tightening it on the bar so after a couple turns on the tensioner everything was fine. Please note this saw is for light use not for major forestry work. I have had no incidents of kickback and I’m quite happy with my purchase. I have found that the chips and dust tend to follow the chain and accumulate in the tensioner housing (I guess because of the oil) so I would recommend a good cleaning after each use.
Homelite is alright

This is a lightweight pruning saw more than anything else. I was a little disappointed in the condition of the chain. (it needed to be replaced immediately). The unit has reasonable torque and speed. The unit tension is easily adjusted and in many other aspects it is a fine tool for the money spent. Overall, I would say it was a good value.

Great little chain saw
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
For the money, either reconditioned or new, this is a great little chain saw.
I’ve used a ton of expensive (Husky or Stihl) chain saws. The Homelite is clearly no match. However, if you need help with small jobs around the house, its silly to spend more than this costs.
Pros:
For the money, well designed and simple to use.
Saws amazingly well. You have to take it slow and let the saw do the cutting. But it will make its way through 4″ limbs quite well.
For first time users, the user manual is a good primer on chain saw safety.
Its a well executed design. For once its nice to find an opening price point product that does not scream of some purchasing agent going to a bazar in the Far East and ordering a boatload of junk with his company’s name stuck on it.
Cons:
You need at least a quart of bar oil. It uses more oil than it needs to. No big deal, just don’t saw over the dining room table and keep an eye on the reservoir.
If you muscle it through a limb, the chain has the potential of popping out. Did it once when I first got it. Just take it easy and let the saw do the cutting.

Disappointment

This was a joke. I was given a worn out and stretched chain. I should have known better than to buy a refurbished chain saw. I will not make that mistake again. You would think they would try a product before re-selling it.
Used/RF Homelite 9.0 Amp 14″ Electric Chain Saw

For me I only use the saw one or two times a year. That is O.K. to buy the reconditioned/used and save $50%. If you use the saw 4 or more times a year buy the new one with 12 amp power motor.
